The Deep Time Foundation

is an independent nonprofit dedicated to supporting discovery-based research in paleontology, evolution, and archaeology. We support researchers uncovering the history of life and our planet— fossils, artifacts, and ancient worlds. We focus on direct, flexible grants and put fieldwork ahead of paperwork.

We believe that the big advances in science come from new data, and new data ultimately comes from the field. Our mission is to empower scientists, especially in historically underexplored parts of the world, to go out to the field and bring back the past, then write it up.
